ABA Technician - Hourly (Bennington County, VT)

A Behavior Technician (BT) works one-to-one with an individual with Autism to teach targeted skills which have been identified through a comprehensive or focused behavioral assessment. The BT utilizes the concepts and principles of ABA to target pivotal skills required to increase independence and promote generalization. Each BT is directly supervised by a BCBA. Services may occur in clients' home, school, and/or community.

Qualifications

  • ✓ High School Diploma
  • ✓ Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), currently enrolled in an RBT curriculum, or wanting to become and RBT
  • ✓ Two (2) years of experience working in an applied setting preferred
  • ✓ Acceptance of philosophy and science of behavior analysis
  • ✓ Must feel confident and comfortable working in clients' homes and communities
  • ✓ Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • ✓ Successful completion of fingerprint and CORI check

Supervision & Evaluation

The Behavior Technician reports directly to the Behavior Analyst (BCBA) overseeing the specific case. Most services provide additional weekly training and supervision time for the BT.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work directly under the close supervision of a BCBA, BCBA-D, or BCaBA
  • Work directly with clients to implement behavior change procedures and programming as designed by a BCBA or BCBA-D
  • Accurately collect and graph data on all programming as indicated by the behavior analyst.
  • Maintains client program book and informs their supervisor in a timely manner of any issues with the program book or materials
  • Writes case notes and completes timesheets following each session. Submits timesheets and billing to supervisor in a timely manner
  • Observes all confidentiality and safeguards for all related case information; including, information which is identified in FERPA, FISMA, and HIPAA
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with individuals, their family, and their team
  • Maintains acceptable attendance
  • Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work environment
  • Acts responsibly, professionally, and considerately to the individual, their family, and their community. Including, respects the family dynamics and culture of the individual within their home, community, or school
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, critical thinking, and decision making

Hourly Rate

Commensurate with applied experience and certification.
